TIPS FOR FASTER PLAY
BE READY WHEN IT IS YOUR TURN TO PLAY.
Check distance as you approach your ball, and have 2-3 clubs in mind.
TAKE THESE TO YOUR BALL, instead of returning to the cart for a club.
Play READY GOLF.
Especially if your group is falling behind the one ahead.
Your place on the course is directly behind the group ahead,
NOT ahead of the group behind.
Limit practice swings to 1.
Try to take practice swing while others are walking up to or hitting their balls,
if this doesnŐt interfere with their play.
WATCH WHERE YOUR BALL GOES, AS WELL AS OTHERS IN YOUR GROUP.
Help them to find theirs. Limit lost ball search to 5 minutes, and
allow any closely following group through while searching,
if there is room. (5 min., is the USGA rule)
PUTT OUT, RATHER THAN MARKING SHORT PUTTS.
This is your option, and you already know the line.
WALK TO YOUR BALL, RATHER THAN WAITING TO RIDE
while your cart partner is at her ball, if this will save time.
Save conversations for times when someone isnŐt about to hit.
such as when you walk to or from your carts, NOT on the tee or green.
Take proper clubs with you to a ball.
CARRY AN EXTRA BALL WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES.
Record scores at the next tee, rather than at the green. Those behind you
ARE WAITING TO HIT.
When your ball is on the green, and your cart partnerŐs is not, be sure she
has her putter, then pull the cart to the BACK of the green. DONŐT LEAVE
THE CART AT THE FRONT OF THE GREEN!
PUT HEADCOVERS ON WHILE OTHERS HIT, DONŐT MAKE THEM WAIT
WHILE YOU DO IT.
_PUT YOUR CLUBS AWAY AT THE NEXT TEE. ESPECIALLY IF THE GROUP
BEHIND YOU IS WAITING.
